One less bag . . .

Yes, until at least early August the diaper bag has been retired!!! Connor is officially a big boy and a graduate of potty training. We started April 8th and followed Potty Train In Three Days by Lois Kleint. I found this book through a friend, Sherri, who has trained both her boys this way. I had HIGH expectations. I wanted to quit midway through Day 1. Then I remembered, it is ONLY 3 days. We can do this (luckily "we" expanded to include Colin for Day 2 & 3). The method worked for us and the best part is no pull-ups, no diapers, nothing! We are sooooo proud of Connor!

Here is a recent pic of Connor at the Art Show

Happy Easter

On Friday, Connor & I met Cathy at the mall for some Easter bunny action. Connor loved the bunny!

The mall bunny was much better than the one at the country club today. As you can see by Connor's face, he agrees.

We went to the egg hunt this year with sweet Zayna.

Happy Easter!

Besides seeing the sweet babies, we also spent an afternoon with cousin Brandon and Heather and Kenn at Kinderfarm Park in Severna Park. Playground and Animals - doesn't get much better for littleBIG boys!

Kenn & Brandon flying a kite -Connor just loved it!

Brandon showing Connor how to "slide" - I thought this was too dangerous but Kenn helped Connor feel safe and sure enough our baby is a Big boy.

Connor 2.5

Connor is officially 2 1/2 (as of Valentine's Day - yes, I am behind)! What Connor is doing now:

1. Singing. He has mastered several songs including:
Angels We Have Heard On High, Happy Birthday, Grand Old Flag, Here Comes the Sun - he even does the accompaniment(ABC Song, Happy and You Know It - he has known for awhile)

2. Puzzles. This kid is addicted to all puzzles. His favorites by far are of the 50 states (of which he knows 47 of 50 - and the capitals of a few). I have also found the cutest iPad app Shape Puzzle HD. If you have a 2 year old you need this! I downloaded the Europe map as a joke on my iPad and Connor can complete the puzzle in 3 1/2 minutes. Now, he only knows Hungary, Norway, and England by name but I'm sure it is only a matter of time before he has mastered that too.

3. Sports. Connor is into golf, basketball, football and soccer (not surprising if you know Colin but shocking if you know me). Soccer is his best sport at this point. He does have golf clubs, basketball hoop, goal post and goal. Now that weather is coming around, we will just be outside every chance we get.

4. Cups. Connor surprised ALL of us when he picked up his cup of orange juice that the waitress (I was thinking dumbly) poured for Connor at the Mickey Character Breakfast in Disney and drank it all without spilling.a.drop! Where did that come from? I purchased some plastic "Big Boy Cups" as Connor calls them when we got back and he drinks water from them every day. Basically no spills. Pretty impressive.

5. Ears. Connor was back at the doctor this morning for a quick ear check - still infected (although the opposite one from the last infection). Connor's first sick visit wasn't until 15 months. He proceeded to have 5 ear infections from 15-21 months. No ear infections since last April! Until a few weeks ago. No we have 2 in 2 weeks. Uggh! He is a trooper and is still a happy kid. Update - another ear infection so now 3 since February 12th. Tubes?

6. The doctor laughed out loud today when I told him Connor drinks a handle of orange juice a week. Happy he likes it but I am trying to offer apple juice and milk as well. I am afraid he may turn orange!

7. "I Don't Like It!" Connor's newest phrase that he will say (even when he does like it) but he certainly likes to express opinions - wonder where he gets that from??

8. Pandora. We are new to Pandora radio. It downloads to your phone and plays radio music - kids stations, pop stations, etc. Connor has taken over Colin's phone and requests songs every minute he sees Colin. Every Minute. His favorites are The Beatles, Mickey Mouse, Elmo and . . . Baby Swimming (Nirvana). He is hilarious.

9. Potty Training. Was scheduled for last Thursday, but due to antibiotics we postponed. Since Colin's family is arriving next week, we will hold off probably now until April. I am sad, because we (Connor and I) are both ready. We have new toilet seats for each bathroom, big boy underwear - washed and ready to wear, new pjs, etc. . . just need Connor to feel good.

And since I haven't taken or downloaded pictures lately, an oldie but goodie . . .
