Popcorn

We never go to the movies. Seriously, never. Sure there are a few movies I have considered seeing in the theater but not one that I just had to see. The last movie I saw in the theater was Wedding Crashers. That debuted in Summer of 2005!

I have been thinking about taking Connor to the movies for awhile (thinking mainly that he wouldn't sit through a movie, thinking it would be a waste of money, thinking it would be a trip to regret). I discovered (through word of mouth) this week that Winnie the Pooh is only 63 minutes long. 63 minutes might be doable.

Knowing I could deliver the baby at anytime, I decided that this weekend was my last chance to take Connor to the movies. Colin was out of town for a day so my parents offered to take us. I am happy to report Connor was a rockstar, sat in his own chair for all but 10 minutes of the movie, and was super excited about the entire experience. Just proves once again that our baby boy is growing up fast and ready for more than we think!

When I was "prepping" Connor for our outing, I thought we might go to an after-nap showing. I mentioned that popcorn was available as a snack. Luckily I didn't dwell on the popcorn part because we went to an 11 am showing and planned to eat lunch immediately following the show at Connor's favorite burger joint, Mugshots. He didnt ask for or seem to want popcorn. Whew! When the film ended and we were walking out, I said we were going to eat lunch! Connor's response: "yeah, we might eat popcorn". Poor guy, next time.

Connor's 1st trip to the movies . . . He didnt need the booster for height - but to weigh down the seat so it didnt fold him up.

The Nest

Nesting has officially begun and is almost done . . Well, cleaning is never done but I do feel like other than packing bags, we are ready for our new arrival.

Today, the curtains went up! Last big item on the to-do list.

Here are a few pictures of the nursery.

Curtain close up. I love this goblet style.

New mirror, paint and curtains plus Connor's old furniture and a boy room has been transformed to a baby girl nursery.

P.S. The pillow on the changing table is from our wedding and does not reflect the initials of our sweet girl.

Doctor says she will be here within the next 10 days!

The final countdown to little miss moorhouse's arrival. I am 36 weeks today. Baby C is measuring at 6 lbs 14 oz. Yikes! Connor is getting excited for "the baby sister". We were at the beach with the Gambles for a week and then at the lake for the 4th oh July and Colin's Birthday. A few pictures of the vacations . . .

Happy Birthday Colin!

The things Connor says . . .

I will often tell Connor that we will do something (i.e. Go to the zoo, park, library) tomorrow.
connor's reply every.time: This is tomorrow

Driving/ riding in the car:

Watch Out! That car is going too slow! Blow the horn!

PBS channel wasnt working for a day soon after the tornadoes. I explained that despite my super-mommy powers, I could not fix the channel so we could watch Sid The Science Kid.

Connor's response: The remote will help you, Mommy.

Proving Connor is at least partially a Davis even if he looks "just like {his} daddy", every shirt he puts on he announces whether it has a tag. Some shirts he refuses to wear because the "tag is bothering". This is straight from his Big Daddy and Uncle Ben.

Connor knows our phone number. We worked on it a few months ago but I let it go once we started potty training. A week ago Connor just blurted it out. I guess he was listening. . .

Connor may be the ONLY kid who prefers leftovers. When I ask him what he wants for lunch or dinner he always lists off several items he would like and then says:

It's already made?

Perhaps he just has less patience than his mom - uh oh.

WORDS I DIDNT THINK I WOULD HEAR FOR 10 YEARS:

I walked into Connor's room once the "light" was green. He was still sleeping and normally I would not wake a sleeping child, but since potty training I have been reluctant to let him sleep much past 6:15.

Me: Good Morning, Connor.

Connor: I'm still sleeping, please come back when the light turns off.

WHO IS THIS??

Maybe the . . .

Next American Idol?

Meteorologist

So, we are back from our quick trip to the gulf. One of my roommates from college lives in Georgia but we rarely see her . . . And when we do it is when we are all back in Maryland. To remedy this we met up at the beach despite the gloomy forecast, I am thrilled the meteorologist was wrong (yet again). A nice relaxing weekend, smooth drive down & back (thanks to Colin), and super sweet kiddos - the beach and pool are magical!
