Boo at the Zoo

One of my roommates from college came to visit last weekend with her 2 kiddos (Brookelyn & Gavin). We had such a fun time at the zoo with our nap-deprived kids. Much better than watching the Auburn/LSU game

Cora and Connor

A few funny pics from a chilly morning last week. . .

Some are saying Cora may have red hair . . .

Check out that face . . .

She really loves Connor & Connor repeatedly says "I WANT TO KEEP HER!".

Funny Connor comment: at music class, a boy came in with a spiderman mask on and went out of his way to show Connor (the only other boy in the classroom). Connor said, and I quote, "Yeah, I like that. I am thinking about ordering it". Hide your credit cards!

Forrest Fun Run

Connor's school had a Boosterthon Fun Run last week. Honestly, I thought it was a terrible idea to have 3 year olds running laps in a parking lot. Parents were invited to attend, but it was cold that day and Cora was already fighting a little congestion so I sent Colin. Running is his thing, anyway. Connor loved it. Colin loved it. I loved staying home and getting these cute pics.

So, Connor ran 35 laps (the maximum allowed). Actually, I think he ran 33, someone mentioned he must be tired and he walked the last 2. Otherwise I dont think it would have occured to him that he was tired. He just ran, and ran, and ran. Other kids stopped to get the laps marked off on the shirt but he kept running, and running. Other kids stopped to get water, he kept running (no doubt Colin's kid). In high school Colin took his dog to the track to run and the poor dog kept up with Colin and ran his paws off, literally . Connor did pause about lap 15 to take a drink -only because Colin insisted. He wasnt the fastest, but he had a steady pace and enjoyed it. Again, obviously related to Colin. No way I would have run 2 miles at 3 (or 33) - ok maybe but I wouldnt have liked it.

Keeping Kitty

Connor's 3K class has a boy kitty and a girl kitty about the size of a Build-a-Bear. Each Thursday a student takes home Kitty for the long weekend. This was Connor's weekend. Thursday Kitty camped out in the garage (i.e. Connor left him in the car). Colin broughr in Kitty's suitcase on Friday and the fun began. Who would have thought a 3 year old would enjoy changing Kitty's outfits, brushing his lack of teeth, etc.? (maybe someone who studied education rather than philosophy and french?) Saturday we went to Pepperplace (market) and forgot Kitty. We went to get pumpkins and forgot Kitty. We did remember to take Kitty to Mass and Publix. Just as we got used to having Kitty around, it is time to get Kitty back to school. My favorite comment re: Kitty "We dont have to worry about Kitty being loud at church, because Kitty is not real".

2 Months

Cora is 2 months old today. She is certainly much bigger than she was last month! 3 month clothes are fitting perfectly and I am packing up all the newborn clothes today. In fact, she has put on enough weight that we can see glimpses of Davis dimples. So far, I think Cora looks like Colin's family but with our coloring. I suspect this may change so I want to remember the resemblances by age. Here are a few facts about C.

Cora LOVES her changing table. Connor did too. I think it is because the mirror has a shadow she can see (the contrast) and also the fan shadows. She will talk (coo) continuously. It is precious.

Cora also LOVES her mobile. It is the same one Connor had but she really likes it. Connor wasn't quite as impressed. She will watch it for so long I can take a shower and get dressed before I even hear a peep. Amazing!

Her legs are strong and she is a mover. She will turn 180 degrees in her crib in no time. She usually has clenched fists and will try to box. Connor loves to try to hold her hand or foot. He thinks she is "quick" and too fast for him. So funny.

Cora finally had a bath she didn't hate. She didn't smile or cry. We'll take neutral.

She continues to be an unprectitably good sleeper. Some days are better than others but she is averaging (not scientific math) 5.25 hours of continuous, uninterrupted sleep at night. She is stretching about 8-10 hours between feedings at night.
