28 days later

We have a landline and it works. update: was working now isn't working . . .

First calls from . . . You guessed it. TELEMARKETERS.

I did spend 2+ hours on the phone yesterday in order to get it working. Exhausting.

Now I've got to figure out another way to save money . . .

Tube Check

Happy Kid. Probably because I promised no tubes.

Resolutions . . . Are for a new year

Luckily Sprint has unlimited data. And lucky for me I have Sprint.

Note to self (and everyone else) do not resolve to do something in the new year and try to get a head start before it is actually the new year. You will likely live to regret it. I did.

It all started on December 30th. I called my current home phone and Internet provider AT&T to see if I could lower my monthly bill. The department I needed was closed. It was only 6 pm. So I called Sprint. Sprint was promoting 19.99/month for local and long distance. Way better deal. I asked the woman no less than 475 questions over the next hour. I almost pulled the plug b/c I knew I would regret switching. But after investing an hour plus I gave in and requested to switch my home phone service to Sprint.

Jan 5th the package arrived with my new Sprint stuff. I was eager to save money and have my phone sound and work "even better than before". A direct quote from Sprint.

I should have known better. I did know better. I just didn't listen to myself. Dumb. I plugged in the phone and I couldn't make a call. The employee at Sprint actually suggested that I move the phone closer to the window. Really? How about if I put the phone outside? Would that help? This is supposed to be my landline not a cell phone. In fact my cell phone worked better than this new phone. Dumb. I quickly cancelled the phone service and asked to switch back to my plain old' telephone service. No more than 20 minutes had elapsed from turning on the Sprint phone and canceling the service. Most of that was the lady asking me to unplug the phone and move it to the window. As I type this I still do not have my plain old telephone back and although I now have Internet I didn't for an entire week. Which is why I have neglected this little blog.

Thanks for letting me vent. I'm back. I have 2 semi-under-the-weather kiddos, an unhappy hubby after the Ravens worst 25 seconds of football and a busy week ahead.
