Weekend at the Lake

This past weekend we spent some time at the Lake when it was 105 degrees. We spent most of our time in the water. One of my roommates from Gettysburg and her family joined us. So fun!

11 Months

Cora is 11 months old today. I guess this means I need to start planning some sort of birthday party for you, huh? You still have a great appetite and generally never refuse food. You now have 4 teeth up top and 4 teeth on the bottom - all are slowly growing in. You are in a Size 3 diaper as of today. 6-9 month clothes are pretty much too small now. You are still standing and cruising but not walking yet. You love the pool and don't mind going underwater either. She really likes you to sing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" when changing her diaper. She encourages this by doing the motions for the song. Occasionally she will request "Patty Cake" - But "Itsy" is her favorite. The standard 11 Month photo

Double Dating

Julia tells me when you swing at the same time it is double dating. Is this a triple date?

Commercialized Cora

You have to be kidding me! I opened the Restoration Hardware Baby and Child catalog tonight. See this!! I'm not super happy about this.

Wedding Weekend Saturday

Saturday morning Colin played golf (of course) and we packed up the room and met up with Heather, Brandon, Mary, Madelyn and Grandma Cathy. We toured the boats again. After lunch I attempted to go see Mary G's new apartment in the city but I realized halfway to her place that I didn't have my cellphone - NOT GOOD. I didn't know her apartment number so I couldn't get into the complex. I had to get a cab back to the hotel to try to find my phone. I wouldn't have been so crazy - and I was crazy - but the phone had my ID in it and I needed that to get on the flight a few hours later. AHHHH. At the hotel, I tried calling the phone - no answer. I tried Colin (again) (I called him from the cab) - he didn't answer either time. I tried again. 3rd time is the charm. Um, he had my cell phone in his pocket. So, off to Federal Hill to Neal's house party and spending some time with Mom Mom and Grandad Bob. After a light dinner at Blue Agave - yum! we were off to the airport again. Colin and the kids rode the light rail and I rode with Bob and Pat to the airport with the luggage (remember Colin didn't enjoy lugging the luggage 2 blocks. This was a great plan and thanks to Pat and Bob we were able to escape Baltimore without any problems. Well, almost. . . Connor had a little mishap with the light rail and took a spill but after some neosporin and band-aid he is all better. And that is our wedding weekend recap. It was so fun but it will be awhile before we do that again!

Wedding Weekend Part 1 - Thursday & Friday

Last Thursday, we packed up ourselves and the kids and hopped on a plane up to Baltimore for our friend Kevin's wedding. The wedding reception was at a cool rooftop lounge downtown overlooking the Inner Harbor. We decided to stay at the hotel to make our lives a little simpler. We also decided to take the light rail from the airport so that we could avoid the dreaded 2 car seat haul (plus our kids and our stuff). I thought it was a brilliant idea. Of course, it was my idea . . . Colin wasn't loving the idea so much when he was pulling the bags 2 blocks from the station to the hotel. But honestly, it was 2 blocks and $2.20 to ride the light rail (total). Compared to renting a car, paying $30/night to keep the car in the parking deck all weekend, etc. I suppose a cab ride was another option - but if you know Colin you know that installing a car seat is pretty much pure torture (for him and for me to watch). I usually end up installing the car seats and then I am a soaking wet smelly mess. So, the light rail was a great idea, right? Anyway, now that I have justified the 2 block walk. Colin went off the the rehearsal and I stayed and got the kids dinner and ready for bed. Caitlin's sweet friend Vanessa came to sit with the kids while I headed out to the Rehearsal Dinner. We enjoyed delicious Italian food at Chiapparellis and then off to Looney's Pub for a nightcap. Bob, Billy, Colin & Mike

Friday we ate a hotel breakfast and then hurried to get ready to meet Auntie Cait and kids. Baltimore pretty much as different events going on every week all summer long. This past weekend was Sailabration. Fun for the kids and one bazillion people to enjoy it along with us. Connor Josh Will Cora  Jenna

After a morning in the Harbor, we met up with Colin's dad and stepmom for a nice stroll to lunch at Little Havana. It was about a mile walk to get there - but so worth it! Colin was off the the wedding and I got ready for naps and the reception. This (I think) is the first time I didn't actually go to the wedding, but did attend the reception. The wedding was at 3 pm in Canton and I just didn't have the ability to get there without kids and back and get them fed, bathed, etc. Just wasn't going to work. I barely got ready on time as it was. Cora was more out of sorts than she ever has been (that I remember) and it was because she is getting 3 top teeth all at once. She just wanted a bottle and bed. Luckily Mary arrived after work to play with them and I snuck off to the reception upstairs at the penthouse lounge, Pisces.

So now the wedding photos . . . With the Wedding Crasher ("Jammer") - Can't make this up. My Favorite Picture - Check out the reactions of all the people along the window!
