A little lift . . .

So I wasn't really impressed with boyish layouts for Valentines Day and I am not as talented as Jenn in creating new backgrounds (plus with all the new office furniture we ordered and received - I am busy trying to get that set up for a picture - it is BEAUTIFUL furniture and looks GREAT in our room!) So this layout has a hint of pink and some red for the big day - not that we really celebrate Valentines Day more than anyone else does but this year we will . . . it is Connor's half birthday so he will be 6 months old! Hard to believe still! It is also Uncle Neal's real (28th) birthday!

Reading Rainbow

So, do ya'll remember that show Reading Rainbow? My brother and I watched it all the time growing up. Well, a few days ago I was driving and listening to whatever radio station Colin had tuned into the night before (so, really who knows which station it was) but the intro to the show was the theme song from Reading Rainbow (well a version of the song). Weird. Anyway, in his crib, Connor has a glow worm, a book and a rattle. This morning I found him loving his glow worm and reading his book (or at least feeling the book). He has started pushing up on his toes and arms placing himself in a pike position. We suspect he may be crawling soon - gotta get the house ready now!

Happy Weekend! Love, Connor

Lovin' Spoonful

Connor is just loving his cereal these days and should be excited since he is going to start veggies next week. Honestly, the dr. said I could start a month ago but I wasn't ready yet. I am going to try to make Connor's baby food - my friend Kelly did this (and at the time she told me she was doing it I thought she was really crazy!) but after thinking about it (and learning several friends make food)- I determined it was an amazing idea! So, next week is the trial run. Connor got a silver spoon from his Great Grandmother this week. It is so nice but she wanted him to play with it so here are a couple of pictures of Connor and his silver spoon. He loves the spoon and knows it is his spoon. Since the handle is curved he can get a good grip on it and it is difficult to pry it away from him. I have also included a photo of Connor on his first true snow day - and his tongue - Connor loves just letting us take a peek at his tongue - too funny!

{The title of this post is a tribute to the music my dad and I would listen to when he drove me to school. He loves the Oldies and I do too.}

Jump, Jump for My Love!

The day has finally arrived. I never thought it would come - and then today a delivery.. .
--the Jumperoo we ordered for Connor for Christmas. I held out and ordered the Precious Planet Jumperoo and I am SOOO glad I did. It was between the Precious Planet (featuring a monkey) and the Rainforest. Although I love the Rainforest too, I just had to have the monkey. So, we waited until it was released (01/15/09) and today it arrived - brand new! To say that Connor loves it would be the understatement of the year. He really likes to be held standing up so to be able to bounce on his own is amazing. Just check out his face - and feet - so adorable - and I must say cuter than the kid on the package! Jump, Jump for my love!!

5 Months Old

Connor is 5 months old today! Hard to beleive it has been 5 months already. Maybe it is so hard to believe because I have been losing my mind lately. So, I have a cell phone that can get emails, internet, etc. It originally had my work email and home emails on it but when I left work and they eventually closed that address I decided to remove that email address from the phone since it wasn't getting any emails and instead was prompting me for a password every 5 minutes - ANNOYING. So, to get rid of the annoyance, I deleted the email. Well, clearly I am not a comptuer scientist because doing so got rid of ALL of my contacts. I entered all of our Wedding/ Christmas Card lists into the phone over the past 5 months with address, phone numbers and email addresses. All gone. Luckily I did print the contact list out before I left work so I have most of the information but it is going to take awhile before I am back up and running.

Although I am really enjoying being at home, I have started my maddness again with furniture. In college, Caitlin can attest that we rearranged our tiny dorm room at least 6 times our 1st year. I get bored with furniture placement and until now I haven't really had time to fret about it - but this week I have started (and have yet to finish) several projects. I am liking the new placement though.

I tried to upload videos today but the attempt was unsuccessful. I will try again later this week. Happy 5 months Connor!
Connor loves his Bird Bath Toy.

Weekend Update

Connor had such a great time visiting with his Great Aunt Migi! We played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. Connor has been showing off (to put it nicely) and rolling over ALL the time. He started rolling over at the beginning of last week and by the end of the weekend he is rolling over, and over, and over across the room. He is also attempting to crawl backwards! It is really more like scooting but nonetheless, he is on the move. His "talking" has definitely gotten more exicted and LOUD too! Needless to say we are enjoying every minute of our active boy. Connor got to see baby Ben and meet his little brother Nick (only 1 month old). We all watched the Ravens win!! My brother actually went to the game (he is a Titans fan though). And the update you have all been waiting for . . . (oh well, the update we have been waiting for) Connor almost slept through the night 3 nights in a row and then he had 3 nights of a couple hours of sleep and then up EVERY hour. Last night, he did it! He slept through the night from 10 to 6! We are going to try to make it 2 in a row. Here are a few pics from this weekend.

Go Gators!

Although the Gators are orange and blue - here is Connor's attempt to say "Go Gators!" My cousin is at the game - so we really hope they win!
