Wrap up

So, we have been busy doing pretty much nothing.  Connor has been sick.  We got back from Baltimore on August 9th and after an uneventful (thank you) morning flight we were having a normal day.  Connor woke up from his nap and made a funny face and projectile vomit - everywhere.  He has NEVER done this (well maybe the week before).  It scared the crap out of me!  It continued until dinner and then I spent the next 2 days waiting for it to happen again.  I covered every upholstered crevice in the house with a towel.  Of course, it didn't happen again.  Then, I got the virus, then my mom, my dad, colin, etc.  But by his birthday he was truly all better or I would have cancelled the party.  He had been puke free since Monday so we had his party.  As you saw in the photos - he loved it!  Monday morning after the party he had his 2 year well visit.  No problems.  No shots.  Nothing.  Tuesday morning Connor woke up and looked like a bug bit him in bed - once on his head and once behind each ear.  By Wednesday those "bites" were looking better but he had new ones on his legs.  Hmmmm.  My mom diagnosed him with Chicken Pox.  Colin's mom confirmed through photos as did Caitlin's dad (The Doctor's office wouldn't see us).  Umm, can I have my copay back for the vaccine?  It truly was a mild case that Connor didn't even notice.  Not ONE time did he itch!  Amazing considering the horrific case that I had when I was little.  So, I guess the vaccine did help . . . sort of still want my co-pay back though.

So, we have been out of commission socially speaking for 10+ days.  Today happens to be my birthday and my mom offered to come play with Connor while we went out to dinner.  We had a very fun day today and a delicious dinner tonight.  The location has valet parking - mainly because the parking lot is very small.  After dinner, we were waiting for the valet to "pull up our car" (I put this in quotes because our car was literally parked right next to us - probably could have just given us our keys).  While we were waiting for the valet to move our car 2 feet, we noticed a Coors Light can on the valet stand.  Odd?  Dangerous?  Hilarious? Had to share it on the blog.  Pictures soon.  Good night.

Vote for Albertville

Back in April, a tornado ripped through my father's hometown.  Now, the high school has been nominated to receive 50 new laptop computers.  The students of Albertville need your vote!  Please, VOTE HERE for Albertville High School, or click on the link at the top right of the blog.  Thank you in advance!

This is a news video from You Tube showing the destruction.

On Monday we had Connor's 2 year appointment.  He has gained a whole 1/2 pound since his 18 month appointment (weighing in at 27 lbs 9 ounces) - 50th percentile.  He is 36 1/2 inches though which is 100th percentile for height.  A few birthday pictures for this week.

I'm Ready for FOOTBALL

Ok, actually I am still trying to enjoy summer, despite the much needed rain today.

Apparently this didn't make the news in Alabama . . . shocking, I know.

Alabama misspelled "Mississippi" on its football tickets.  Gotta love it!
WAR EAGLE!  Football is ALMOST here!

Choo Choo Our Baby is 2!

Connor turns 2 today!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNOR!

This year has gone by sooo fast!  In the past 6 months Connor has learned the Alphabet, Numbers (he can count to 20 now), to Sing (his favorites are Twinkle, Twinkle, ABC's, and Happy Birthday), to Match (and organize), to Swim (well, he can kick his way across a pool holding onto a noodle - pretty good!), and much, much more.  I honestly can't seem to catch up on the blog, but I can assure you we have been busy.  A wedding and birthday in Baltimore last weekend (of which I have NO pictures) - I am waiting for people to send me some pictures - ahem - send them please!!

At the pool yesterday, we were watching the "big boys" jump off the diving board.  Connor said "Momma, Connor next!"  What?  Of course the lifeguard and a 10 year-old's dad were all for it.  If Colin had been there, I would have let him do it, but seriously, Connor isn't really even good at jumping off the side of the pool - much less the diving board!  Fearless!  We are sticking to kicking and swimming this summer - diving board, next year (maybe).

Colin and I just finished putting together Connor's big gift - and I took a couple pictures to remember the way it looked prior to Connor.  (Colin actually suggested that we glue the track down - but I just feel like that stifles creativity - I am sure I will regret this later).

Flowers and Appliances

Today is our anniversary!  Colin and I were married 4 years ago today.  It is HOT as blazes today - just like it was 4 years ago!  Just the way I like it, though.  Anyway, the recommended gifts for 4 years are: Traditional - Flowers and Modern - Appliances.  And while I REALLY want a new fridge.  We have decided that we are going to get that at Christmas - so . . . guess what I got?  Landscaping - how perfect.  Hopefully it will last MUCH longer than traditional ol' flowers.  Some quick pics I took tonight . . . wish I had before pics to show how wonderful this really is . . . it is wonderful!

6 days left?

Are there really only 6 days of July left?  Wow!  Summer is flying by and I am very sad.  I love summer!  We have been to our pool only twice this year.  Connor and I plan to go several more times before the end of summer.  Sure signs that summer is ending and fall football is beginning:  We received our Ravens tickets and we attended an Auburn Fall Kick-Off event.  I suppose if summer has to end, I am happy to have it followed by football.  Connor and Aubie (the real Aubie - not our orange cat)
We got to catch up with the Hams at the event.  Such cute kiddos!  Connor also entertained the crowd by dancing, dancing dancing in the roped off area in front of the stage.  The fun ended when he and another little girl head-butted each other.  Special Thanks to Cathy and Chuck who waited in line for the Aubie picture.  C&C didn't make the post picture since they weren't looking at my camera - I must reiterate . . . Smile and look at my camera and I will take the picture when Connor looks up!!
